Who these terms are between

Ourview is operated by an independent developer. These terms apply to the marketing site at ourview.events and the app at app.ourview.events. By creating an event, or by joining one as a guest, you agree to them. How we handle your data is described in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.

The short version

• One price per event, no subscription. Events for up to five guests are free.
• You keep ownership of what you upload. We only store and show it to run the event.
• The host controls the invitation and the gallery: who gets the link, whether guests can browse, and when.
• Events expire 90 days after they start and the files are deleted. Download what you want to keep before then.
• Only upload what you have the right to share.

What Ourview is

A host creates an event and receives a private invitation link and QR code. Guests open it, enter a name, and add photos and videos. The host chooses whether the collection is a shared gallery that guests can browse after a reveal time, or a host-only gallery that only the host sees, and can close uploads at a chosen time.

Ourview is a way to collect an event's photos for a limited time. It is not a backup or archiving service. Every event has a fixed storage period, after which the files are deleted.

If you host an event

You sign in with a Google account or an email link. Keep access to that account to yourself; what happens through it is your responsibility.

The invitation link is the only key to your event. Anyone who has it can join and, in a shared gallery, browse the collection. You decide who receives it. If it spreads further than you intended, replace it from the event settings; the old link stops working immediately.

You are responsible for your event: the guests you invite, the content they add, the gallery mode and reveal time you choose, and what you do with the files you download. Where the law requires consent to photograph or share images of people, obtaining it is your responsibility.

If you join an event as a guest

You join by entering a display name. Use a name you are allowed to use. The name appears beside your uploads to the host and, in a shared gallery, to other guests.

You are responsible for what you upload. Once an upload has completed you cannot remove it yourself; ask the host to remove it, or email us and we will help.

Your content and our licence

You keep ownership of everything you upload. So that we can run the event, you give Ourview a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, copy, and display your uploads to the host and, in a shared gallery, to the event's guests. That licence ends when the files are deleted. You also give the host the right to view and download your uploads.

We do not use your photos or videos for advertising, for training machine-learning models, or for any purpose other than running your event.

Acceptable use

Do not use Ourview to:

• upload content you do not have the right to share, including other people's copyrighted work;
• upload content that is illegal, that harasses or threatens someone, or that sexualises minors;
• upload malware or files designed to harm devices or systems;
• bypass guest capacity, shot limits, upload windows, or any other limit, or access an event you were not invited to;
• scrape, probe, or overload the service; or
• resell access to Ourview.

If an event or an upload breaks these rules, we may remove the content, freeze or delete the event, or close the account, and we may refuse service to anyone. Paid events closed for breaking these rules are not refunded.

Pricing and payment

Each event is paid for once, based on the guest capacity you choose. There is no subscription. Prices are in US dollars.

Every event includes a per-guest shot limit of 5, 10, 25, or 36 uploads. Removing the limit costs an additional $9.99, including on a free five-guest event. The price shown at checkout is the price you pay; taxes may be added there depending on where you are.

Payment is handled by Lemon Squeezy, which sells the event to you as merchant of record, charges your payment method, issues your receipt, and handles taxes. Its terms apply to the payment itself. The checkout page is valid for 30 minutes; if you do not complete it, nothing is charged and no event is created.

Guest capacity and the shot limit cannot be changed after an event is created. If you need more room, create a new event. The event name, start time, time zone, reveal time, gallery mode, and upload-close time can be edited until the event expires.

Refunds

You can get a full refund if you ask within 14 days of purchase and no guest has joined or uploaded to the event. Email support@ourview.events with the order number from your receipt. Once guests have joined, the capacity you bought has been used and we do not refund, except where the law gives you a right to one.

A refunded event is frozen: the invitation stops working, guests can no longer browse or upload, and the host can no longer change or download it. Files are still deleted on the normal schedule. Payment disputes and chargebacks are handled by Lemon Squeezy and freeze the event in the same way.

Event lifecycle and expiry

Every event's storage period is 90 days from its start time. Guests can upload from the moment the event is created until the upload-close time the host sets or the end of the storage period, whichever comes first. Each upload must finish within an hour of starting. Guests are refused when the event is full or when they reach the shot limit.

When the storage period ends, the invitation stops working, nobody can view or download the collection, and the files are deleted. The period cannot be extended and deleted files cannot be restored, so download the archive before the event expires.

A host can delete an event at any time before it expires. Deletion disables the invitation immediately, cannot be undone, and the files are deleted shortly after.

Availability and changes to the service

Ourview is provided as it is. We work to keep it available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service, and we may change or remove features. Prices may change for events created in the future; an event you have already paid for keeps the capacity, shot limit, and storage period you bought.

Ending your use of Ourview

You can stop using Ourview at any time. To delete your host account and its events, email us from the address on the account. We may suspend or close accounts and events that break these terms or that we are required by law to act on.

Disclaimers and liability

Ourview is provided without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We are not responsible for the content guests upload or for what a host does with the files they download. Our total liability to you in connection with an event is limited to the amount you paid for that event. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.

Disputes

If you have a problem with Ourview, email us first at support@ourview.events. We will try to resolve it with you within 30 days before either of us takes any other step.

Changes to these terms

When we change these terms we update this page and the date at the top. For a change that affects your rights or what you pay, we will say so on this page before it takes effect. Using Ourview after a change means you accept the updated terms.
